MediumThe first quarter of the first century of my lift has been successfully completed. What’s about to come next?
Pineapple - because, why not.!?
I’ve had a wonderful upbringing, surrounded by the best parents anyone could wish for. Thank you, mom and dad, for always being there for me!
Meanwhile, I’m thankful towards all other people - relatives, friends, acquaintances, idols - that have also helped to shape the person I am today!
The last 25 years have been marvellous in every aspect. Of course, there have been various downtimes. But for the most of it, I’ve had a chance to experience and learn a lot, while also achieving some of my first goals.
So far, I’ve successfully gone through the elementary-, basic- and high school, as well as studied law, business, marketing and various other things in the university. Much of it has also included different types of voluntary activities, such as youth politics, debating, teaching and even building wooden planes. Tho the biggest impact has come via the Draper University summer program, Startup Wise Guys accelerator and simply building my own things.
For sure, I would not be the person I am today if I had not travelled as much as I have. It has given me the opportunity to meet people from various cultures and develop a much better understanding of the needs of humans and other creatures around the world. I’ve especially enjoyed the summer in South Africa in ’11, my first Eurotrip (alone) in ’12 and my first visit to the States in ’15. Thank you, mom and dad, for making those possible before I started to pay for my own trips.
And of course, the books I’ve read, the seminars I’ve visited and the podcasts I’ve listened have been just superb. That’s the way, I’ve been able to really get new thoughts into myself. In particular, by reading hundreds of books in the last 10+ years. So thank you, Anthony Robbins, Ben Horowitz, Dale Carnegie, Jim Rohn, Malcolm Gladwell, Napoleon Hill, Nassim Nicholas Taleb, Peter Thiel, Richard Branson, Robert Kiyosaki, Robin Sharma, Timothy Ferriss, Yuval Noah Harari and many others whose work has helped to shape me.
Today, as I’ve turned 25 years old, I’m looking back at my childhood, thinking it’s been a wonderful time learning and developing as a person.
Surely, I will keep on evolving over the next 25, 50, 100, perhaps 1000 years.
As they say - evolve or die.
However, I’ve found myself at one important thought!
It’s time to change my focus from just studying into achieving more…
That said, my next 25 years will be concentrated on taking this knowledge I’ve been able to accumulate and using it to bring real change around myself while focusing more on achieving the goals I’ve set myself.
This certainly will bring some change to how I’m spending my time. Mainly affecting the activities of my everyday life, as well as the projects that will get most of my attention.
This will also include more delegation of things which are not in more core competency - this means, I will focus more on setting vision and strategy, starting new businesses, building relations and consulting other parties.
I will be dreaming more. I will take more risks. I will have more fun. And I won’t regret anything…
In short, a change is coming. For the better. In multiple ways. And I’m really looking forward to how the next 25 years are going to play out!
Happy birthday to myself and happy reflection time through the holidays to all of you!
