A custom structural or container job can fail commercially before anyone sends a quote: the physical joint varies, the robot needs reprogramming, and the eventual quality record is incomplete or attached to the wrong part. Novarc's current NovAI and NovHub proposition addresses that shop-floor evidence problem. It is not evidence of an automated request-for-quote or ordering system.
What NovAI and NovHub are intended to do
Novarc presents a product ladder. NovAI Capture records weld video, parameters and production context. NovAI Control gives an operator live visual feedback and lets that operator change weld motion or parameters during the weld. NovAI Autonomy is the claimed Physical-AI layer for autonomous adjustment, while NovHub connects video, parameters, part traceability and production timing. 1 2 3 4 5
The stated workflow is practical: a cell produces a weld; the platform links the event to a part, job, operator and production window; configurable post-weld process windows flag variation; and production or quality staff review history and video before deciding on containment, corrective action, rework or release. Novarc positions this for remote monitoring, quality records, targeted containment and root-cause analysis. 1
NovAI Autonomy is claimed to handle seam offsets, root-opening changes, tack locations, seam distortion and part-to-part variation, including automatic seam tracking, tack fusion and parameter or motion changes. That directly addresses fit-up variability and expensive fixturing. The May 2025 launch described Control's human-in-the-loop adjustment. These are provider-described capabilities and demonstrations, not independently measured production outcomes. 2 3
The evidence boundary matters
The strongest current evidence for NovHub and NovAI is vendor documentation, company announcements and live demonstrations. The June 2026 release says NovHub was demonstrated with ABB and Yaskawa robots and describes over-the-air software updates. That supports a product-direction or architecture claim, not proof of signed packages, staged rollout, rollback, qualified welding-procedure validation or customer-controlled change approval. 4
No independent quantified NovHub or NovAI Autonomy result was found through 27 October 2026. There is no published customer denominator, weld count, baseline, trial period, part mix, defect definition or realised quality KPI. Novarc's earlier customer numbers concern the separate Spool Welding Robot (SWR), not this intelligence stack.
The MCAA customer article reports Harder Mechanical moving from about 120 factored diameter inches per shift to more than 200, with 0% repairs on the current job and prior failures described at 2–3%. This is customer coverage of an SWR outcome, with no controlled trial window or independent inspection dataset. 7 Novarc's Alternative Heat case reports approximately 100 metres per week per TIG welder and 157 metres per week per rotator, a target above 400 metres per day for larger pipe spools, and an archive headline of an additional 700 metres per week across two shifts. It is a vendor-reported SWR case; dates and controlled comparison are not disclosed. 6
What is still missing for a custom order
The retained evidence does not show NovHub ingesting revision-controlled drawings, engineering constraints, capability registers, material and tolerance specifications or current capacity and then recommending a feasible custom offer. It does not show supplier pre-vetting, RFQ or configure-price-quote (CPQ), tax and currency logic, Incoterms, offer approval, contracts, logistics, certification-package generation, invoicing, maintenance or aftersales. NovPlan's CAD-to-program capability is a separate product and outside this case.
There are also material deployment unknowns: no public API or enterprise connector list, event schema, export format, retention controls, model/version audit trail, EU hosting statement, security policy or secure OTA evidence. A dirty identifier, wrong drawing revision, incompatible units or material, incorrect process window, or misattached video can turn traceability into misleading evidence.
An illustrative deployment test
For an illustrative European fabricator, use NovAI Capture and NovHub first on one qualified cell producing variable joints. Preserve the job and part identifier, drawing and weld-procedure revision, operator, shift, material and lot information, and the limits used for each process window. The quality or engineering owner remains authoritative for containment, rework and release; commercial staff separately approve any customer-facing commitment.
Replay representative joints, including gaps, tacks, reused identifiers and missing revisions. Measure record-linkage errors, alert precision, repair and rework rate, review time and agreement between the weld record and released quality package. Treat an OTA or autonomous change as a governed change to validate.
Novarc therefore offers a credible path from a partially opaque weld to a searchable video-plus-parameter-plus-production record. The evidence-backed near-term value is visibility, operator-assisted or adaptive execution and targeted quality review. The result for a no-SKU structural or container order remains conditional on integration, qualified procedures, clean identity and revision data, human approval and a documented path from alert to containment or release. The retained research does not show that NovHub closes the upstream commercial loop.
