Preparation, workshop and written follow-up

Focused business and AI workshop

I prepare and run a working session on one question before you commit people and budget.

Starting point

A new application, an AI proposal or a change in how customers buy can raise questions worth examining before you commit people and budget. I prepare a workshop around one of those questions in your business, using the material you share and research into what is missing.

During the session, I work through the choices and implications with the people responsible for the decision. We create working material suited to the question, and I send a written recommendation and next step afterwards. You can use the conclusions without buying implementation or ongoing support from me.

Suitable situations

  • Your executive or departmental team needs to assess a product application, business direction or AI initiative before committing to it.
  • You have one question to work through and enough relevant material for me to prepare.
  • You want the people responsible for the decision to examine options, constraints and assumptions together.
  • You need a recommendation and test brief at this stage. A completed system or full diligence project would require a different scope.

Questions for a workshop

We choose one question. I can help assess an existing proposal or explore a new opportunity.

A new application for existing technology

Is this application worth pursuing?

I compare the intended user, available customer and competitor evidence, pricing, costs and relevant rules, using the technical constraints supplied by your team. We work through an initial comparison of applications and business cases, then prepare a brief for testing the assumptions that matter most.

Finding and using technical knowledge

Could AI help our team use the information we already have?

I review sample documents and the tasks people struggle with, then compare search or AI options, source reliability, access requirements and costs. You receive a recommendation, assumptions to check and an outline test brief for your technical team. Building the knowledge system would be a separate assignment.

AI-assisted product discovery and buying

How will AI change the way customers find and compare our products?

I review sample product information and the buying journey with your team. We identify where better facts, explanations or interfaces could help a buyer or buying assistant. The session produces a prioritised list of information, content and purchase-step changes to explore.

Working process

  1. Before the session: research and preparation

You send the question and relevant material. I review it, research the subject and prepare examples, choices and evidence for the discussion. We agree a question narrow enough to examine within the total allocation.

  2. During the session: work through the decision

We spend up to four hours with the people involved. I help compare alternatives using your team’s technical and business knowledge, and record the assumptions that still need checking. Together we create material such as an option comparison, customer journey or outline brief.

  3. After the session: recommendation and next step

Within three business days, I write up the conclusions, recommendation, questions still to check and people needed for the next step. Preparation, the session and follow-up take up to 12 hours in total, normally across one week.

Completed work and handover

  • A prepared session based on your company’s question and material.
  • A comparison of the relevant alternatives, including constraints and important unknowns.
  • Working material suited to the question, such as an initial business-case comparison, customer journey or outline test brief.
  • A written recommendation and next step, with assumptions to check and people to involve.
  • Written follow-up within three business days, with no required follow-on purchase.

Scope and working terms

  • €2,000 excluding VAT, paid before the session.
  • Preparation, up to four hours together and written follow-up. Up to 12 hours total, normally across one week.
  • We agree one question. You provide relevant material and the technical constraints needed to evaluate it.
  • The fee covers research, working material and a recommendation. A completed demo, implementation or full market or technical diligence requires a separate scope.
  • Written follow-up is provided within three business days. No follow-on engagement is required.
  • Any subsequent specialist delivery, tools or other work is separately agreed. Confidentiality and the use of supplied material are addressed before starting.

Questions before you decide

Does the question have to be about AI?

No. I can prepare a workshop on a new application, business model or product decision. I may use AI to support research and preparation where it helps, with source checks and review.

Can we use it to assess a proposal we already have?

Yes. Share the proposal, its reasoning, relevant evidence and constraints. I start from what your team already knows and prepare the session around the decision you need to make.

Will we leave with a working AI demo?

No. I prepare and run the session, then provide written follow-up with a recommendation and an outline test brief where appropriate. Building a demo or implementing a workflow needs a separate scope.

What should we send before the workshop?

Send the question and material relevant to it. That might include customer and competitor evidence, a product proposal, sample technical documents, or product information and buying steps. I also need your team’s technical constraints to assess the options.

Can you guarantee that AI tools will recommend our products?

No. I can assess product facts, explanations and buying steps with your team and identify improvements to test. Recommendations and placement in external language models are outside our control.

How is this different from a collaborative workshop?

This workshop costs €2,000 excluding VAT and focuses on one company question, with preparation, a defined time allocation and written follow-up. Collaborative workshops, including those with Matis Metsala, have a separately agreed agenda for a team or participant group.
