Leadership for one quarter

90-day interim product and business leadership

I take responsibility for an agreed product, market-entry or business role for 90 days.

Starting point

You may be defining a product, preparing to enter a market or looking for someone to lead a product line, business or executive team for a period. I can take responsibility for that area for 90 days. Before starting, we agree what I will lead, what I can decide and which people and resources are available.

I work alongside your team and contribute to research, material and decisions as well as managing the work. We review progress throughout the three months, adjust priorities as we learn and prepare a handover with the next quarter’s priorities.

Suitable situations

  • Your business, product line or department needs a leader for a defined period.
  • The executive team can agree the role, decision authority, team, information and resources needed to do the work.
  • You need someone who will lead and also contribute directly to research, product decisions, commercial material or operating questions.
  • Three days / 24 hours per week is a suitable allocation for the responsibility involved.

Leadership roles

I can lead a function, a product or the overall business. We agree the breadth, authority and resources so the role fits the stated time allocation.

Interim product lead

Who will own the product priorities and connect them to the business case?

I research users, help shape the product experience, write requirements and lead reviews with design and development. I contribute to the brief and user testing, checking technical choices against customer needs and the business model. The handover includes product decisions, next-quarter priorities and a regular process for reviews.

Interim marketing or market-entry lead

Who will lead the launch or market test?

I research buyers, adapt the product explanation and offer, and lead the agreed launch or test. Alongside coordinating people and channels, I contribute to pages, content and customer conversations. Your team receives the improved material, market evidence, spending priorities and ongoing responsibilities.

Interim business or executive lead

Who will take responsibility for the overall direction during this period?

I work through the business model, budgets, priorities and operating decisions. I lead the management team and coordinate product, marketing and delivery, while contributing to analysis and resolving agreed issues. The handover includes a business plan, clear responsibilities and next-quarter operating priorities.

Working process

  1. Month 1: agree the mandate and begin work

I get to know the area, your team and the evidence already available. We agree goals, authority, information access and the people involved. I establish regular team meetings and progress reviews, and begin the practical work during the first month.

  2. Month 2: lead the work and adjust priorities

I manage the agreed area, coordinate your team and contribute directly to the work. We review completed changes, open questions, blockers and next actions. I adjust priorities as customer, product and market evidence comes in, with a monthly checkpoint to review progress against the mandate.

  3. Month 3: review progress and prepare the handover

I review progress against the agreed responsibilities, complete the handover and prepare the next-quarter plan. Your team receives completed material, decisions, named responsibilities and maintenance instructions. Monthly checkpoints have a proposed five-business-day review window. We agree any extension separately.

Completed work and handover

  • My leadership and accountability for the agreed product, market or business mandate.
  • Research, analysis, briefs, material and decisions completed within the remit and time allocation.
  • Coordination of the people and specialist work needed for the assignment.
  • Regular team meetings and monthly reviews of progress, blockers and next actions.
  • A handover of decisions, completed work and responsibilities, with a next-quarter plan suited to the mandate.

Scope and working terms

  • €9,000 per month excluding VAT, paid monthly in advance. Three months: €27,000 excluding VAT.
  • Three days / 24 hours per week over the 90-day engagement. More time or different coverage requires a separately agreed arrangement.
  • We agree one mandate: a function, a product or overall business leadership. Scope, authority, team, access and resources are confirmed before starting.
  • My practical contribution and leadership within the remit are included. Specialist engineering, design and implementation remain with the responsible people. Additional specialist fees, software, advertising and travel are separate.
  • Monthly reviews and handover are included. The proposed review window at monthly checkpoints is five business days.
  • We can agree another interim period, a lighter role or another continuation if it suits both sides. Confidentiality, rights, conflicts and scope changes are addressed in the agreement.

Questions before you decide

Can the mandate include overall executive leadership?

Yes. I can lead a product or function, or take responsibility for overall business direction and the executive team. We need to agree the authority, people and resources before starting. The 24-hour weekly allocation stays the same, so the breadth of the role needs to fit it.

Is this advisory support or an operating role?

It is an operating role with responsibility for the agreed remit. I research, write, analyse, lead reviews, coordinate people and contribute directly to the work. We define the role around the responsibility your company needs someone to take on.

Can one mandate cover product, marketing and business decisions?

Yes, if they belong to one coherent business or executive role. We agree the breadth, priorities and team support within the stated allocation. It cannot provide the capacity of three independent full-time leaders.

What does the company need to provide?

Someone available for decisions reserved to the company, access to relevant information and people, and the agreed team and resources. Before starting, we confirm which decisions I can make and where specialists need to be involved.

What should we expect at the end of 90 days?

You receive the completed work, decisions and their reasons, clear responsibilities and a next-quarter plan. Depending on the mandate, this may include product priorities, launch material and market evidence, or a business plan and operating priorities. A complete product built by me alone or a guaranteed commercial result is outside this commitment.

Can we extend the engagement or change the time commitment?

Yes, by agreement. We can discuss another interim period or a lighter role. Work needing more than 24 hours a week or different coverage requires a separate arrangement; the listed fee covers the stated allocation.
